Off the page with Prima- DT project by Nanné

Hellooooo fellow scrappers..
Living in Finland my kids love to celebrate all of the holidays we have here along with all of the holidays that are American, that we also celebrate here..
Well, today is the eve of Mayday.. Which means all of the younger generation get all dressed up in funny hats, masks and costumes and go strutting their stuff in our capital Helsinki.. they eat donuts, funnel cakes and drink a soda called "Sima".. which I actually make myself..
so, this year my daughter went out and bought a simple little black hat with a veil and then a mask.. She then asked me to help her PIMP them up as she put it..LOL
We went through some our my Prima goodies that I had gotten from Kristina over at Your Memories Here and the fabric flowers (Miss Kate)  were perfect along with the fabric leaves.. She also used some Prima gems, ribbon and a trinket by Bo Bunny.

Here are the finished projects:

She also grabbed some wide red ribbon from my stash and made a beautiful trim with it.. adding the gems, trinket, flower and the feathers to it..

Here is the mask..

She added some red stickles to accent the image on the mask and then added the red Prima fabric leaves behind a big black flower that was already on the mask..

I appologize for the photos, I took them with my iphone since the batteries were dead in my camera.. oopsy on my part..LOL It happens...

I want to thank you all so much for stopping today and checking out our project for Your Memories Here and remember, these flowers aren't just for pages, but off of them as well..
Hope everyone has a wonderfully scrappy week :)

Sweet Retreat Photos

Afternoon everyone,

We are officially home from the retreat...well I am lol.  It was a wonderful event and Kristina and Cari truly did an amazing job...*Kevin did too*   We had lots of laughs and lots of chocolate and who could forget the oodles of Prima goodies!!!   Cari & Sharon truly outdid themselves on the kits they gave us for the classes. Product overload and everything was amazing!!!   Cari was a blast as she taught us...I swear that woman cracked the whip..no bathroom breaks or anything LOL!!!... Love ya Cari ;)

Here are the make and takes from Friday night.  They were fun to make and got us all a little warmed up for Saturdays 3 classes!

This is the clutch we made using a canvas album page.  I even asked Cari to teach me how to mist effectively as we all know I struggle with that one.

Next was the headband. I LOVE that trim...may have to get me some more of that!

Last but not least was the cuff.  It doesnt fit around my wrist but it sits happily on my shelf now.

Our first class was a mini album and I have not shown it as we didnt get it finished so I am hoping to have it done next weekend.
The second class was 2 layouts using the Almanac collection.  A truly stunning collection and by far my favourite!!!  I used a photo of my oldest daughter Bek from the fall for this layout. A very special thank you goes to Kristina and the amazingly wonderful Cris for helping me with this layout as I came down with a migraine about 20 minutes into the class....so they helped with alot of the technical folding etc as my head was pounding while I waited for medications to kick in.

Second layout I used a photo of my youngest daughter Jess from a few years ago.

Our evening class consisted of a canvas apron, lots of water and Golden paints.  It was a BLAST!  I love the end result of my apron and everyones was very different.  They truly reflected personalities.

The weekend was wonderful...I laughed lots (we all did!) and I made friends with some amazing women....I truly recommend the next one to everyone!!!

Bright & Early ATC - Prima Almanac Collection

TGIF!  Dana here today.  I had a lot of fun creating this ATC!  My photos left me uninspired this week, but I'm still loving the Prima Almanac Collection so I decided to make an altered trading card with my favorite supplies, no photo required.

The "Agenda" patterned paper from the Prima Almanac collection has a wonderful selection of notecards that make great bases for ATCs.

I was excited to try out some new purchases, a couple of Prima's clear stamps and cotton tape.  The cotton tape is without design so I used some ink and a new stamp to add a fun print.

Prima's cotton tape is available in three different colors and widths.  The tape has adhesive on the back which makes it really easy to add to projects.  After cutting a small piece of cotton tape from the roll, I peeled back and cut a small portion of the backing on each end of the tape to hold it secure to my work surface while I stamped my design.

Here is what my piece of tape looked like after stamping.  I liked the black and cream for the this project, but it would be fun to add color after stamping.

To build my ATC I first filled the white space on my card with a Prima stamp and embossing powder.  I then added color with Distress Ink, Distress Stain and Tattered Angels Mist.  Once my base was dry, I added cotton tape, resist canvas, chipboard, a flower center, twine and designs I cut from the Almanac patterned papers.  If you haven't tired creating ATCs, they're really fun, a great way to use up smaller pieces of paper and embellishments, and also the perfect size to try a new technique.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy scrapping!

Canvas with Inks and Mists

Hey there crafty peeps. Today's project is a canvas for a super cute little girl. She's the daughter of one of my bff's and great friends with my youngest daughter. So, she's special. I made this for her 7th birthday. I used tons of Ranger and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. Sparkle is a must for this little girl. <3

I used glimmer mist and masks to do some of the background. I used the Distress ink pads to stamp shapes onto the canvas.

Layers and layers of inks and mists!

I hope she likes it! I hope you get your inks and mists out and try to use them in a different way. I hope all the lucky ladies going to the Sweet Retreat have the best time ever!
Happy Crafting! :)

Distress Stains & Shrink Plastic

Hi eveyone, Nancy here today to share with you a fun tutorial using my Tim Holtz Distress Stains and shrink plastic.  I know when I was a child I loved playing with Shrinky Dinks.  So, when I had children I bought them some.  My youngest loves making jewelery with hers and after looking at some of her projects started thinking that I could make some cool embellishments using her plastic (shhh, don't tell her).

You will need shrink plastic (I cut some gears with a Tim Holtz for Sizzix die), a mix of distress stains, a craft sheet, and a heat gun (so much easier to use than the oven).
Lay a mixture of colors onto your craft sheet.
Then simply drag your shrink plastic through the stains.   You can see you end up with a mix of colors on your plastic.
And when shrunken.....
Be sure and stop back by next week where I will share another tutorial using your Distress Stains and my final project.

Until then.

Birthday card- Your Memories Here

Happy Monday fellow scrappers..
I'm sorry I'm a bit late with my Monday post today, but we've had some stuff happen and a little change had occured today and I couldn't get to my computer :)
But anyway.. I was so in aaaaaaw last week when my package from Your Memories Here had arrived.. I'd swear I was like a little kid at Christmas..LOL   I absolutely loved the new Prima Sun Kiss collection I received and Holy Cannoli, it was packed to the rim with goodies.. I am going to have so much fun playing with it all.
ok. I'm getting off track..LOL

My daughters 23rd birthday is coming here in just two short weeks and I wanted to create a pretty card for her.. I decided to use brown and white cardstock as the base, then grabbed one of the journaling notecards that came in the Sun Kiss Collection.
*its a bit late here so the colors are darker than in actual real life..
Here is my card:
There were so many beautiful flowers in this collection that I was driving myself mad trying pick some out for this card..LOL  finally chose the yellow, green and brown.. The brads are Basic Grey..
I stamped few images on the card that came in a stamp set which of course came in the collection.
I found a cute tutorial on Pinterest on how to do the punched trim around the marquee and had lots of fun with that.. Some computer journaling and lots of white liquid pearls to accent..LOL  The butterflies are a MS punch..
for the supplies I used from Your Memories Here:

from my own stash:
MS butterfly punch, edge punch, ribbon, white liquid pearl..

alrighty then fellow scrappers.. That's my Monday post.. Whew!! I was cutting it close and I do apologize for posting so late.. next week will be better, I promise..LOL
I want to thank you all so much for stopping by today and checking out my Monday post as my design team project for Your Memories Here..

The Final Countdown Is On...**warning image heavy**

For the Sweet Retreat!! I am daydreaming about escaping for a weekend with lots of crafts..but oh what to pack?!?!?!?

This week my post is something very different and very special.  About a month ago I asked the ever lovely Kristina to order me bulk amounts of the Prima roses..the minis, the cabbage roses and any others.  I didnt care on colour I just knew for the idea forming in my mind that I would need ALOT!  So when they all arrived I was in the midst of relocating my studio so they got put in a draw and the idea shelved in my mind....until this week. A customer of mine at work and his wife were expecting their second daughter to be born in April...I was a little glad she went over on her due date cos she had the baby on my birthday (which made me smile like a fool LOL!) anyway...I enrolled my handy hubby to make me a dolls cradle out of poplar so that I could get to work.

I have painted the crib in Warm White folk art paint that I always have in my stash...I used some gorgeous Bo Bunny papers from my stash as well as hundreds of flowers and I do mean 100's!!  The bouquets are hot glued in place so they wont ever come out...well not easily!

I will be delivering this Welcome To The World gift this week and I am sure it will be loved.  It was a long process but I enjoyed every moment of it...and I will be kind of sad to see it leave my studio...but what a perfect girly gift for a brand new baby.

That is all for now....I am not sure if I will be home in time to make a post for next weekend due to the retreat...but I will do my best to show you the goodies we make whilst there.

Have an amazing week!

Vintage Trinkets: Prima
Rhinestones: Prima
Packaging: Prima
Distress Stain: Ranger

Dana here today sharing another layout I created with the gorgeous Prima Almanac collection for.  I decided to go with a neutral color palette for this page and added some metallic accents for a bit of shine.  The bottom layers on this layout are Prima Packaging, which work great as base layers, not only for the great designs, but it can hold heavier embellishments better than paper, adding some support to a layout.  I added adhesive foam between several of my layers so that I could tuck embellishments between papers.  I also used adhesive foam to curve the piano keys for some added dimension.  I love the movement the raised keys add to my page!

I used Distress Stain in Vintage Photo to color my piece of resist canvas.

I love all of the Vintage Trinkets add add them to my projects when I can.  I like to softness this cloudy gem adds to my page.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Be sure to visit the Your Memories Here Store for all your Prima needs!
